Take it back.
Get a Creative Zen, they are far superior to iPod's.

iPods are overhyped anyway, must say I'm not too impressed with the sound quality. Zen is the way to go, or iRiver.

Well, i got a story about my Zune, glad i can share it.
So, one day, bout 2-3 weeks ago I was listening to my Zune, Everyday occurrence. So I get called into the kitchen to do some dishes, and as usual I planned to take my Zune with me, as it had been plugged into my PC and charging, But not today.
When I unplugged it, it instantly made a click and died, so i said ''Ok, this has happened before, no biggie, just turn it back on'' But to my surprise, it just kept showing me the Zune sign and flicking on and off repeatedly, until it gave me the dead battery sign, then i plug it back into the PC, and it just loads up, goes to a light black screen, makes a clicking noise and shuts off. Wash rinse repeat process really, so now the thing is completely dead, oh well.

Heh, well actually I found out it was only the battery in it, because in the course of it being ''dead'' over the 3 weeks or so, i got it to start a total of 3 times, and it'd only stay on for like an hour max until it died once again. And all the info was still there the whole time.
Made in China ftw!
